FAQ

How do I get started with Simple Strategies?
We will need your personal IRD number as well as any IRD numbers that relate to your business, trust or partnership, such as your GST number. You also need to provide your bank account and credit card details so that we can set up bank feeds in Xero so that your financial activity can be tracked.
I am currently using another accountant, is it hard to change?

Not hard at all. Once we have agreed on a plan that’s right for you, we’ll get you to sign a Letter of Engagement which sets out our terms and conditions. Then we’ll contact your existing accountant and organise the smooth transfer of any information. You won’t need to contact them at all if you don’t want to. We can take care of the lot.

Do I need to buy expensive software?

No, all Simple Strategies clients have access to the award-winning Xero software as part of their package. This software is based in the cloud so you can access it anywhere, anytime from any device with a web browser. Check out more on Xero.

Will you let me know when my tax payments are due?

Absolutely. We offer a tax management service as part of the monthly fee at no extra charge. We’ll write to you to let you know when payments are due with plenty of time to spare. If you need help planning in advance for these, just let us know.

What are your prices?
We’re not just accountants and have a huge range of other services on offer including business consultancy and strategic planning. Unlike most professional service providers, we don’t bill by the hour – it just encourages inefficiency. Before we start a job, we always quote you a fee up-front. That way you always know exactly how much something will cost and there are no surprises. Our clients like it that way, for more information contact us directly.
Do you charge me if I call to ask a question?
Never. We love to hear from our clients! If your enquiry requires some extra work, we’ll be sure to let you know and quote you a fee up-front.
How do I pay for my monthly package?
All monthly packages are paid by direct debit to make it as easy for you as possible. Let us buy you a coffee and help you select the package that’s right for you.
What happens if I stop paying?
We’ll get in touch to see if there’s a problem first, but we won’t continue any work or start any new assignments until the account is up to date.
Do you ever increase your fees?
We endeavour to keep our fees as low as possible. We review our monthly fees in March each year. If we ever decide to increase our fees, we will advise our clients in writing at least 30 days ahead of time to make sure there’s no surprises.
